Hi,my name is Theresa Townsend.My husband Rich and I are the owners of Hawk Pond Farm,in Elkland,Missouri,which is about 23 miles northeast of Springfield.Here we raise our registered Jersey cattle and our AKC registered Brussels Griffons. We fell in love with the Brussels Griffon in 2006.Our first Griffs were Ernie Lee and Izzy Ann.Rich and I both have adult children ,but these Brussels Griffons became our children now.We fell totally head over heels in love with them! There is no other breed for us. Ernie grew up to be a beautiful red rough.Izzy Ann matured to only 5lbs 8 ozs,too small to safely breed,so she became our beloved traveling companion.Izzy accompanied us to many of our Jersey Cattle shows or visits to family on holidays.Sadly we lost Izzy at only 2 yrs of age.We were devastated.When people call asking about a Brussels Griffon,they often tell us about the precious Griffon they lost.I understand the pain and heartache,as I could not have loved a dog more than I loved my IzzAnn.For a long time,it was hard to even talk about her without breaking down,and crying. Fortunately,I was able to acquire three of Izz's sisters.They were in the 7-12 pound range that is proper for a Brussels Griffon.They were the start of my breeding program. We built an airy,bright kennel for our dogs,but I'm not sure why,because they spend all their time in the house! Our Griff puppies are born in the house so we can keep a close eye on them.They get lots of handling,and people time and get used to all the noises and surprises of daily life.They are well socialized before they leave us! We will only let them go to homes that will love them as family members.We want owners who can provide the best care possible.If you are ever not able to keep your Griffon,please bring them back to me.I will ALWAYS take back one of our Griffons,no matter how old or what the problem,I will take them back,and pay for the shipping for them to get back to me.Or I can help you find another loving home .I want our Griffons to always have the best possible life. Before you get a Griffon,I want to know where it will live,and how it will be raised.Please don't look for a Griffon unless you are able to devote several hours of quality time with them every day. They will love you with all there hearts.They are not a breed to be shut in a pen or cage.They want and need your love and attention.They quickly adapt and become a part of your family. We breed beautiful Brussels Griffons that meet the AKC breed standard and have the health and temperament to be wonderful companions.We do not breed designer breeds,nor do we sell to pet stores or brokers.Only when we are sure there is a loving family waiting will we let one of our "kids" go.
